The answer

Some verses of the Holy Quran, such as Al-Fatihah, were revealed more than once to honor them and signify their great status, as mentioned by Al-Suyuti. As for the variations in readings, the reason for this is that the Quran was revealed in seven ahruf (modes/dialects) to facilitate ease for the Ummah, as stated in the prophetic : "Gabriel recited to me in one harf, and I kept asking him to increase it, and he kept increasing it for me until he reached seven ahruf."
