The answer

The Mufassal (Detailed) refers to the short surahs in the Quran that are frequently separated by the Basmala. Scholars have differed in determining its beginning and the length of its surahs, both long and short. The Hanafis, Malikis, and Shafi'is held the view that it begins from Surat Al-Hujurat, while the Hanbalis held that it begins from Surat Qaf. The appellation "Al-Mufassal" has been mentioned in multiple hadiths from the Companions, which indicates that this designation was known and common during the era of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and it may have been given by him through divine instruction.
