The answer

There is no harm in moving the Maqam (station) from its place if there is a need, such as it obstructing those performing or causing them harm. It is narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, moved it from inside the Kaaba to outside of it and placed it against its wall, but its chain of narration is weak. Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, later moved it due to the crowd.
