The question

Is a fidya (expiatory offering) obligatory upon us for not spending the night in Mina on the third night of the Days of Tashreeq, after the campaign (Hajj operator) delayed the throwing of the jamarat on the second of the Days of Tashreeq until after Maghrib prayer?

The answer

Whoever hastened to stone the Jamarāt in two days must depart Mina before sunset on the second day. If he does not depart until after sunset, he is required to spend the night in Mina on the eve of the thirteenth, and stone the Jamarāt after zawāl on the third day.

The questioner must sacrifice a sheep for the poor of the in Mecca because he left off stoning the Jamarāt on the third day after it became obligatory for him to do so upon the sunset of the second day while he was still in Mina. He must also feed a poor person one mudd of food for not spending the night in Mina on the eve of the thirteenth.
