What is the ruling on one who misses spending the night in Mina, stoning the Jamarat himself, and the farewell circumambulation due to work?
Failure to spend the nights of Tashreeq in Mina necessitates a dam (sacrificial offering). Work is not considered an excuse for abandoning it. The stoning of the jamarat is obligatory, and deputizing another for it is not permissible except for one who is incapacitated. The farewell tawaf is obligatory. Whoever departs from Mecca without performing the farewell tawaf, and a dam becomes incumbent upon him due to the distance he traveled (a distance that allows for shortening prayers), then returning later to perform the tawaf will not absolve him. Based on this, three dams are incumbent upon you, to be slaughtered and distributed among the poor of Mecca and the Haram.
