The answer

The jurists differed regarding the time for sacrificing the Hady (sacrificial animal) for the Mutamatti' (pilgrim performing Tamattu' Hajj) and the Qarin (pilgrim performing Hajj). The majority of scholars held that it begins on the Day of Nahr (Eid al-Adha) and is not valid before it. However, the Shafi'is permitted sacrificing it after entering into for Hajj, and also after exiting Ihram from ' and before entering into Ihram for Hajj. The most preponderant opinion is that of the majority, which states that the Hady for Tamattu' must be sacrificed during the days of slaughter, namely the Eid day and the three days following it. If a pilgrim relied on someone who issued a permitting sacrifice on the Day of Tarwiyah (8th of Dhul-Hijjah), then his sacrifice is valid and nothing is incumbent upon him. And whoever owes a sacrifice (dam) may delegate someone to sacrifice it on his behalf in Makkah.
