The answer

Anyone who sights the crescent moon on the eve of the 30th of Sha'ban, , Shawwal, or Dhul-Qi'dah, must inform the court in their country, unless they know that the sighting has already been confirmed by others. This is in accordance with the Almighty's saying: (And cooperate in righteousness and piety) and His saying: (So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey). It is also in obedience to the command of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: (Fast upon seeing it and break your fast upon seeing it). This can only be achieved through cooperation among Muslims by informing the responsible authorities.
