What is the ruling on offering a hermaphrodite animal as a sacrifice for 'Eid al-Adha?

There is no objection to sacrificing a hermaphrodite (khuntha), unless it negatively affects its meat. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, clarified the defects that prevent the validity of an Udhiyah (definition), such as a one-eyed animal, a sick animal, a clearly lame animal, and an emaciated animal that has lost its marrow. Anything similar to these or more severe is analogously measured against them. A hermaphrodite is not considered among these defects unless it causes harm to the meat. Al-Nawawi permitted sacrificing a hermaphrodite cow.
