Is a wife whose husband has passed away obligated to complete her iddah (waiting period) in the country of death (Morocco), or is it permissible for her to return to her country of residence (Holland), and is it permissible for her to visit her family in Morocco during the iddah period?

The iddah (definition) (waiting period) for a woman must be spent in the marital home where she resided before her husband's separation or death. This is the view of the majority of scholars, based on the hadith (definition) of Furay'ah bint Malik. If the woman returns to the marital home where she resided before her husband's death, she must complete her iddah there. Her relocation or travel outside of this place is not permissible.
