The answer

The husband is right in preventing his wife from chat rooms due to the corruption they contain, and the wife erred by not responding to him. In doing so, he seeks to reform her and protect his honor, in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "And a man is a guardian over his family and is responsible for his flock." If he stipulates that she must abandon chatting for her return, he is in the right, and the prohibition is confirmed by her adherence to the condition.
