Is it permissible for a suitor to tell the family of the girl that he is a graduate of an institute where he did not complete his studies, fearing rejection if he tells them that he holds a diploma, knowing that his practical experience exceeds academic qualifications?

The family of the girl should not stipulate a specific certificate for the suitor if he is satisfactory in his religion and character. If they do stipulate it, then lying to them is not permissible, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats is not of me." Whatever marriage is destined for you will materialize, and if she is not your destiny, you will not reach her. For in the authentic Hadith (definition): "The Pen has dried concerning what is to be. If all of creation were to gather to benefit you with something Allah has not decreed for you, they would not be able to. And if they were to gather to harm you with something Allah has not decreed for you, they would not be able to." Truthfulness is the lawful path.
