Is it forbidden for a family to reject a suitor for their daughter because his academic qualification is lower than hers, even though he intends to complete his studies, and they are aware of their daughter's inclination towards him?

Parents do not have the right to refuse their daughter's marriage to a man of good character and religious commitment, merely due to differences in educational qualifications or other disparities. Instead, the family should be convinced of this, prayers should be offered to Allah, and influential individuals should be sought to mediate with them. If they are not convinced, marriage to him is permissible with the guardian's consent. If the guardian refuses, the matter should be referred to the Sharia judge.
