What is the ruling on marrying into a family afflicted with leprosy (al-baras), and what is the authenticity of the hadiths narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning this disease?

There is no harm in marrying a woman afflicted with thalassemia, although it is preferable to undergo a medical examination to ensure she is free from hereditary diseases. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seek refuge from illnesses, saying: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from leprosy, madness, elephantiasis, and evil diseases."
