What should children do towards their parents who did not perform an 'Aqiqah for them?

A group of scholars is of the opinion that it is desirable for a Muslim to perform 'Aqiqah (definition) for himself if his family did not do so for him, based on what Al-Tabarani narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed 'Aqiqah for himself after he was sent as a Prophet." Therefore, 'Aqiqah should be performed to compensate for what was missed. And it is obligatory to honor and be dutiful to parents, both during their lives and after their death, as Allah Almighty commanded.
