How do I deal with my father's rejection of my commitment to the Salafi methodology?

A father has a great right to piety and kindness, and to obedience in what is good. Therefore, one must bring joy to him and avoid angering him. If a father does not wish for his son to be a Salafi, this might be due to what he perceives as errors committed by some who claim to be Salafi. Therefore, the son should explain to his father, with wisdom and a good approach, the true meaning of Salafism, which is following the righteous predecessors in their understanding and application of the Qur’an and Sunnah (definition).
