The answer

The word "saint" (qiddîs) is a title used by Christians and Jews for their rabbis and monks, and we have been commanded to differ from them. Therefore, it is more befitting for a Muslim to avoid this title and choose names and titles that are more beloved to Allah, more truthful, and more beautiful in meaning, following the of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, for we have been forbidden from naming ourselves with names and titles that involve aggrandizement and exaltation.
