The question

Are both Al-Maqbari the father and the son trustworthy and cited as authoritative by Muslim, and is it confirmed that they received narrations from Abu Hurairah, such that a hadith would be sound if narrated by either of them, especially concerning the hadith: "Give in charity, for I have seen that you are the majority of the inhabitants of Hellfire"?

The answer

The is authentic, narrated by the two Sheikhs (Bukhari and Muslim) from Abu Sa'id and Ibn 'Umar. The narration of Sa'id from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, is confirmed in Muslim and Al-Muwatta'. Al-Nawawi and Al-Suyuti have both authenticated Sa'id's narration from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, and they mentioned that Sa'id narrated from Abu Hurayrah, Abu Sa'id, Ibn 'Umar, and Anas. This hadith has been narrated by a group of scholars from Sa'id al-Maqburi, including Imam Ahmad and Abu Ya'la with an authentic chain of narration, and from his father, Abu Sa'id al-Maqburi, including Ibn Khuzaymah and Al-Nasa'i. The narrations have been reconciled by stating that Sa'id heard it from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, and also heard it directly from Abu Hurayrah, so he would narrate it through both channels.
