Are the two narrations mentioned for the Hadith of Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him) authentic, or is one more authentic than the other, and if so, which one is stronger?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The two narrations strengthen each other, and the first narration is sounder, as it was transmitted by Abu Dawud and Ibn Hibban and authenticated by Al-Albani, and its chain of transmission is sound according to the conditions of Muslim. As for the second narration, it was transmitted by Ahmad, and in its chain of transmission is Abdullah ibn Lahi'ah, who had a poor memory.
