How many wives did Prophet Solomon have?

The hadith (definition) of Sulayman ibn Dawud does not indicate that his wives were restricted to the number mentioned therein, because the concept of a specific number is not upheld by the majority of Usul al-Fiqh scholars. It has been reported in ancient books that he had 300 wives and 700 concubines, but the authenticity of these reports cannot be definitively confirmed. There is no need to exhaustively investigate the number of his wives, as no religious or worldly matter depends on it, and it is more befitting for a Muslim to disregard such inquiries.
