Is it authentically reported from the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, that he said: "No, O Lord, but rather I shall be hungry one day and satiated another, so when I am hungry I supplicate to You and remember You, and when I am satiated I praise You and thank You," when the mountains of Mecca were offered to him as gold, and what is its degree of authenticity?

The hadith (definition) "My Lord presented to me to make the flatlands of Mecca gold..." is very weak. This is due to the presence of Ubaidullah ibn Zahr and Ali ibn Yazid al-Alhani in its chain of narration, both of whom are weak in hadith. Additionally, al-Qasim ibn Abd al-Rahman has been criticized by some scholars. It has been declared weak by the Musnad's verifiers and by Sheikh al-Albani.

Al-Tirmidhi's improvement of it means an improvement of its text for others. The strongest evidence supporting a part of its text is the hadith of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, which mentions that Jibril (Gabriel), peace be upon him, advised the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to be humble and choose to be a servant-messenger rather than a king-prophet. This indicates the authenticity of the offer of kingship to him.
