The answer

The narrating the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) visit to Quba Mosque and his performance of the prayer concerning the inheritance of an paternal aunt and a maternal aunt is a weak hadith and not authentically attributed to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). There is disagreement regarding its connected (mawsul) or disconnected (mursal) transmission, and the preponderant opinion is that it is mursal, and a mursal hadith is weak.

Designating Quba Mosque specifically for Istikhara prayer is not legislated due to the weakness of the aforementioned hadith and the absence of any reports from the Companions or the Tabi'un specifying Quba for this purpose. However, it is authentically reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit Quba Mosque every Saturday to pray there, and it is authentically reported that praying therein is equivalent to performing '. Therefore, whoever intends to visit it to pray therein, following the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) example, their action is legislated and recommended.
