Is the aforementioned Hadith authentic or not: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) entered upon us while we were in the mosque, in circles. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to us: (What are you engaged in?) We said: We are contemplating how the sun rises and how it sets. He said: (You have done well, be like this. Contemplate the created, and do not contemplate the Creator. For indeed, Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, created what He willed for what He willed. And do you wonder at that? Indeed, beyond Qaf are seven seas, each sea [traversed in] five hundred years. And beyond that are seven earths, whose light illuminates for their inhabitants. And beyond that are seventy thousand nations that fly, created in the likeness of birds, he and his offspring in the air, never ceasing a single glorification. And beyond that are seventy thousand nations created from wind, so their food is wind, their drink is wind, their clothing is of wind, their utensils are of wind, and their mounts are of wind. The hooves of their mounts do not settle on the ground until the Day of Resurrection...)"?

The aforementioned has a weak chain of transmission, as it includes Ali bin Amr, who makes errors and narrates oddities, and Ibrahim bin Musa Al-Bahrani, who is unknown. Ibn Al-Muhibb As-Samit judged the hadith to be fabricated. As for the phrase "Contemplate the creation, and do not contemplate the Creator," it has appeared in hadiths with weak chains of transmission, but some scholars believe that their convergence strengthens them, and that their meaning is sound.
