Is the Hadith Qudsi: "A man comes (and says, 'O Allah, make me rich'), and Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says to His angels, 'Divert this wealth from My servant, for if I make him rich, he will transgress,'" weak, and what is the ruling on publishing a YouTube video that quotes it?
There is no with this exact wording attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. However, its meaning has been reported through weak chains of narration, such as the hadiths of 'Umar and Anas, which were deemed weak by Ibn al-Jawzi, Ibn Rajab, and Al-Albani, and the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas, which was deemed weak by Al-Haythami.
This meaning has been mentioned by a number of scholars, such as Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Kathir, who pointed out that Allah manages His servants in a way that benefits them. For some, only wealth is suitable, while for others, only poverty, or health, or sickness is suitable.
There is no harm in disseminating clips that contain this meaning in a narrative form or with an indication of its weakness, as long as it does not establish a religious ruling or a corrupt belief. It is permissible to act upon a weak hadith concerning the virtues of deeds, provided certain conditions are met.
