Is the ḥadīth: "Remember Allah with such abundant remembrance that people think you are insane," mentioned in Imām Aḥmad's Musnad, authentic?

The text of the hadith (definition): "Engage in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) so much that they say: 'He is mad'," was narrated by Imam Ahmad and others, with a chain of transmission about which scholars differ between classifying it as hasan (definition) (good) or da'if (weak). Some, like Ibn Ma'in and Al-Hakim, authenticated or classified it as hasan, while others, such as Ahmad ibn Hanbal, An-Nasa'i, Ibn Adiyy, Adh-Dhahabi, and Al-Albani, deemed it da'if. The reason for its weakening is due to the weakness of its narrator, Darraj Abu As-Samh, reporting from Abu Al-Haytham, from Abu Sa'id.

Despite the disagreement regarding the authenticity of this hadith, the encouragement to remember Allah frequently is firmly established in the texts of the Holy Quran and the authentic Sunnah (definition), such as His (Allah's) saying: "O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance." This emphasizes the importance of constant remembrance of Allah Almighty, for it is a cause of success and a sign of love.
