The Marfu' Hadith (definition), "No minor sin persists with insistence, and no major sin persists with seeking forgiveness," was narrated from Ibn Abbas through weak channels, and its chain of narration was deemed weak by Ibn Rajab, Al-Sakhawi, and Al-Ajlouni. As for Aisha's narration with the wording, "No major sin is major with seeking forgiveness, and no minor sin is minor with insistence," it was transmitted by Al-Suyuti with a weak chain of narration, and Al-Albani refuted those who claimed that the Hadith has corroborating evidence. As for the Mawquf statement of Ibn Abbas, it was narrated by Ibn Jarir and Ibn Abi Hatim, and its chain of narration was authenticated by Sheikh Muhammad Amr Abd Al-Latif.
