Is the Hadith with the text: "O Ali! Do not sleep until you come with five things..." false or authentic?
His Eminence the Sheikh warns against a circulated message containing a fabricated attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, which begins with: "O Ali, do not sleep until you have done five things." This hadith is not found in the recognized books of hadith; rather, it is one of the forged hadiths. He alerts to the danger of misleading the public and lying about the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, citing the hadith: "Whoever intentionally lies about me, let him take his seat in the Hellfire," and "Whoever narrates a hadith from me, believing it to be false, is one of the two liars." He mentions that the authentic hadiths reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, are sufficient and render unnecessary the reports of liars and fabricators.
