The answer

The story mentioned by the questioner about Abu al-Dahdah giving up his garden in exchange for a date palm in Paradise is authentically established in the hadiths. It was narrated by Imam Ahmad, Ibn Hibban, and Al-Hakim. As for the story related to Abu Lubabah, it has only been reported on the authority of Ma'mar, from Al-Zuhri, from Ka'b ibn Malik, and it contains discrepancies in narration and exaggerations that are not befitting of the Companions.
