To what extent is the hadith authentic that narrates the story of a man who suffered the throes of death due to his mother's displeasure with him, and how did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, intervene for them to reconcile before his death?

This story is not authentic, and its narration is fabricated. It is not permissible to disseminate it without clarifying its status, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever narrates a Hadith (definition) from me, believing it to be false, is one of the liars."

This story was narrated by Al-Tabarani and Ahmad in an abridged form, and its chain of narration includes Fa'id Abu al-Warqa, who is abandoned. It was also narrated by Al-Tabarani in Al-Awsat, and its chain of narration includes Muhammad ibn Kathir and Jabir al-Ju'fi, both of whom are very weak.

The reason for its lack of authenticity is that the chain of narration for the story revolves around Abu al-Warqa, Fa'id ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Attar, whom the Hadith imams described as "abandoned in Hadith," "worthless," and "not to be used as evidence," and that he narrated fabricated Hadiths.

Therefore, the Hadith scholars ruled this Hadith to be fabricated, and those who compiled books on fabricated Hadiths included it in their works.
