The "He makes the Qur'an difficult for us; indeed, some people among you do not perform ablution properly" was narrated by Ahmad and An-Nasa'i, and there is disagreement regarding its authenticity. Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir graded it as (good), and he mentioned that completing purification facilitates worship and helps in its completion. He also stated that the prayer of the congregant is linked to the prayer of the Imam, citing as evidence the Prophet's distress over the imperfect ablution of someone who prayed behind him.
