What is the authenticity of the Hadith: "If you hear of a mountain that has moved from its place, then believe it. But if you hear of a man who has changed from his innate disposition, then do not believe it, for he will return to what he was created upon"?

The Hadith (definition) which indicates that a person does not change from his inherent nature and that he becomes what he was created upon is weak in its chain of narration (isnaad) and is disconnected between Al-Zuhri and Abu Al-Darda. It was also weakened by Al-Albani and others, who perceived in it a hint of predestination (jabr). There are other authentic Ahadith that contradict it, such as the supplication of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "O Allah, You have made my creation good, so make my character good," and the Hadith: "And whoever seeks patience, Allah will grant him patience." This indicates that morals and character can be acquired and improved.
