What is the ruling on placing the index finger in the ear during the Adhan, and is there any Hadith from the Prophet (peace be upon him) stating that he stood and gave the Adhan, and what are the conditions that, if met by a woman, make her the woman about whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "So win the one who is religious, you will prosper"?

Placing the index finger in the ear during the Adhan (definition) is commendable, based on what has been narrated about the action of Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), and it is the practice of the people of knowledge. It is also commendable to place both fingers in both ears to amplify the voice. This is a commendable act for which the doer is rewarded, and the one who abstains from it is not sinful. It has not been reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) made the Adhan.
