What is the ruling on swearing by "Wal-Nabi" (by the Prophet) and saying "Do this for me for the sake of the Prophet's standing"?

It is forbidden to say, "Do this for me by the honor of the Prophet," if it is intended as an oath, based on the hadith (definition): "Whoever swears an oath, let him swear by Allah or remain silent." However, if it is intended as a plea to someone else to fulfill a need, then it is permissible and in accordance with the custom of the Arabs. This is one of the interpretations of the verse: "And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs." As for seeking intercession with Allah through this, it has been prohibited because a creature has no right over Him, and because no text has been reported to support it, and acts of worship are based on divine injunction.
