The answer

The book Ansab al-Ashraf, like other historical books with chains of transmission, includes what is authentic and what is not, with their authors relying on the (chain of transmission) to discharge their responsibility. Thus, it is incumbent upon the researcher and reader to examine the authenticity of the asanid. Error, fabrication, and even lies, originate from the narrators, not from the authors. Among these narrators are some prolific individuals who espouse the doctrine of rafd (rejection) or Shiism, and the effect of this is clearly evident in their disparagement of Mu'awiyah in particular, and the Umayyads in general.
