The answer

Imam Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal al-Shaybani al-Marwazi al-Baghdadi, a jurist and scholar, was born in the year 164 AH. He grew up in a household of knowledge and traveled in pursuit of knowledge to Hijaz and Sana'a, receiving instruction from prominent scholars who praised him. Imam al-Shafi'i said of him: "I departed from Baghdad, and I left behind no man there more virtuous, more knowledgeable, or more pious than Ahmad." He was tested during the tribulation of the creation of the Quran and remained steadfast. He passed away in the year 241 AH.
