Allah mentioned the inheritance of the 'asabah (agnate heirs) brothers in the verse of Kalalah. It is also narrated in the : "Give the prescribed shares to those entitled to them; then whatever remains is for the nearest male." The inheritance by 'asabah was established during the life of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as in the story of the two daughters of Sa'd ibn Ar-Rabi', where the verse of inheritance was revealed, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded their uncle to give them two-thirds and their mother one-eighth, and whatever remained was for him.
