Does the meaning of Wa'il's –may Allah be pleased with him– Hadith: "He moves it, supplicating with it," merely refer to pointing and raising the finger?

Scholars have differed regarding the movement of the finger during the Tashahhud (definition). Some have interpreted the Hadith (definition) of Wa'il ibn Hujr as pointing with it, not moving it continuously, basing their argument on the Hadith of Ibn Az-Zubayr, which states that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would point with his finger when supplicating, without moving it. Others have reconciled the narrations by asserting that the negation of movement refers to continuous movement, while its affirmation refers to movement during supplication, as an indication of the exaltation of the One being invoked, the Almighty.
