The question

How can one reconcile the seemingly contradictory hadiths, such as those concerning the number of infants who spoke in the cradle, and how can this be explained to someone who asks, while maintaining the belief that there is no contradiction in the sayings of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?

The answer

Only three spoke in the cradle: Jesus, the companion of Jurayj, and the infant of the woman who wished her son to be like the rider. Other narrations have been reported that increase the number to five, seven, or more, but it is possible that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned the three before knowing about the increase, or that the restriction applies specifically to those who spoke in the cradle, while others spoke outside the cradle or in different contexts. Sheikh Al-Albani mentioned that anything beyond the in the Two Sahihs, apart from the hadith of Al-Ukhdood, is weak.
