The Awaited Mahdi is a reality who will emerge at the End of Times. His name is Muhammad ibn Abdullah, and he is from the Household of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, specifically from the descendants of Fatima. He will appear when people differ after the death of a caliph, and he will be pledged allegiance to. He will establish justice and fill the earth with it after it had been filled with injustice. His rule will last seven or nine years, and Jesus, son of Mary, will descend during his time. As for the Mahdi of the Shia, there is no basis for him.
