The answer

Whoever wishes to memorize the Qur’an must purify their intention for the sake of Allah and possess high resolve. There is no specific time for memorizing the Qur’an; each person does so according to their capacity. A little that is continuous is better than much that is قطع (interrupted). Focus and consistency are more important than memorizing a lot and then stopping. If the intention is to read the Qur’an, not to memorize it by heart, then the matter is made easy, as in the of Abdullah ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with them both, where the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded him to recite the Qur’an in seven days and not to exceed that. Memorizing the Qur’an in fifteen days does not usually happen due to its difficulty.
