The answer

Castrating animals is permissible, especially if they are edible, for the sake of benefit, such as increasing their fat and improving their meat. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sacrificed two castrated rams. The Hanafis, Malikis, Shafi'is, and Hanbalis have permitted this, with conditions including that it does not lead to their death or torture, and that it is done at a young age. A weak has been reported prohibiting the castration of horses and livestock.
