Is it permissible to break the fast during the day in Ramadan for a medical examination that requires drinking water, knowing that it is difficult to get another appointment?

A sick person is permitted to break their fast in Ramadan (definition) and make up for it later. This includes a woman with irregular bleeding (istihada) if the illness affects her. An X-ray examination does not invalidate the fast unless it involves drinking or taking medication. If it becomes necessary to drink water or take medicine, and it is not possible to do so before dawn, then breaking the fast is permissible. The maximum duration for menstruation is fifteen days.
