Is it obligatory to make up prayers and fasting if the discharge connected to menstruation extended for a week after a myomectomy, and are only the extra days to be made up and compensated for, or the entire week?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The dark discharge (kudrah) and yellowish discharge (sufrah) during menstruation are considered menses by the majority of scholars. If they are continuous with blood and accompanied by pain, they are considered part of the menses and prevent prayer. As for making up the days on which she broke her fast, it is obligatory, and feeding the poor is not required unless she delayed making up the fast without a valid excuse until another began.
