"It is necessary to make up the prayers for the two days exceeding forty [days of postnatal bleeding] if they do not coincide with the woman's usual habit. This is based on the Hanbali madhhab (definition), which holds that anything beyond forty days is not considered nifas (definition) (postnatal bleeding) unless it aligns with her habit. There is another opinion, held by the Malikis, Shafi'is, and Ibn Baz, which sets the maximum duration for nifas at sixty days. According to this opinion, there is no need to make up the prayers for these two days. Making up the prayers is more cautious, and the matter in this regard is lenient."
