The answer

If the wife travels for her own need, such as visiting her family, with her husband's permission, her right to a share [of his time/presence] is forfeited during her travel period, and the husband is not obligated to make up this period for her upon her return. However, if she travels for the husband's need, she is entitled to maintenance and a share, and he is obligated to make up the period of her absence. Regarding her return, the husband is not obligated to bring her back unless she stipulated that and he agreed, or she cannot find a (unmarriageable kin), or custom dictates it. In these cases, if he delays her return due due to his preoccupation, he is obligated to make up her share. But if his delay in bringing her back is for reasons other than those mentioned, he is not obligated to make up her share.
