What is the ruling regarding a female student who wears the niqab studying a mixed-gender university major, despite her attempts to avoid intermingling, taking into account the payment of non-refundable administrative fees, the possibility of an unmixed major being available in her current place of residence, in addition to her frequent travel with her mother and her 13-and-a-half-year-old brother?

If there is an opportunity to study at a non-mixed university in her place of residence, it is not permissible to enroll in a mixed university, as there is no need for it. However, if such an opportunity is not available in her country after her return, there is no harm in enrolling in a mixed university, provided that there is no risk of temptation (fitna) and that Islamic guidelines are observed. A woman's travel without a mahram (definition) (unmarriageable kin) is permissible when there is a need and no risk of temptation, and the mahram with whom she is permitted to travel must be an adult.
