Is it permissible to perform Qiyam al-Layl with the intention of completing my studies and loving them, despite my dislike for them? And should I rely on Allah and perform Qiyam al-Layl so that my Lord may grant me success in all that I wish for, citing the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The closest the Lord is to His servant is in the last part of the night"?

Qiyam (definition) al-Layl (night prayer) is a great act of worship, and performing it in the last third of the night is closer to having one's supplication answered, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Our Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, descends every night to the lowest heaven when only the last third of the night remains, saying: 'Who is there to supplicate to Me so that I may answer him? Who is there to ask Me so that I may give him? Who is there to seek My forgiveness so that I may forgive him?'" It is permissible for the worshipper to supplicate to Allah during Qiyam al-Layl for success in his studies, as seeking the fulfillment of worldly and otherworldly needs is permissible.
