The question

What is the ruling on a menstruating woman reciting the Qur'an if she becomes in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) after the onset of menstruation? And does what Al-Dasuqi mentioned regarding the permissibility of her recitation while the blood is flowing include the major ritual impurity that occurs after menstruation, or before it, or is there no difference?

The answer

The Maliki school of thought differed on the permissibility of a menstruating woman reciting the Quran while in a state of ritual impurity (junub). Ad-Dusuqi opted for the permissibility of her recitation, whether she was in a state of ritual impurity or not, and whether the state of impurity occurred before menstruation or during it. 'Ulaish supported him in "Minah Al-Jalil". There is no blame on a woman who is prone to obsessive doubts for adopting this opinion.
