The answer

The questioner must do three things:

1. Repent to Allah for delaying the fasting and regret her negligence, resolving never to repeat such an act, for Allah, the Almighty, says: (And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed).

2. Initiate the fasting based on her best estimation of what she missed, for Allah, the Almighty, says: (Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity) and His saying: (So fear Allah as much as you are able).

3. Feed one poor person for each day, half a Sa' of the staple food of the country (1.5 kilograms), if she is able. This should be given to one poor person. If she is poor and unable to feed, then there is nothing upon her except the fasting and repentance.
