It is not permissible for an employee to accept tips or gifts because of his job without the permission of his employer, due to the : "Gifts to workers are ghulūl (ill-gotten gains)," and because it is considered an increase in price that belongs to the employer. The Permanent Committee has issued a prohibiting taking them and considered it a form of bribery.
