Does the death grant paid to the deceased grandfather count as an inheritance for his children, or should it all be given to his wife?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The death grant or its compensation is considered part of the deceased's estate, to be distributed among all legal heirs, without regard to the regulations of the insurance authority. This is because it results from the deceased's work and what was deducted from his salary. If it is a grant in consideration of civil service, it is also a result of his work and is inherited from him, just as if he died leaving something behind in his life and its effect became apparent after his death. The employee, when designating beneficiaries, must mention all heirs and stipulate that the compensation be for all heirs.
